My training class is really great, everyone is like minded! Not quite politically, but our fears and expectations are all similar. It’s going to be fun to see how it all works out. The 4 job “groups” here for training are Environmental Education (like me), Agroforestry, Crop Extension, and Bee keeping. All of the business and health and urban development people start in either January or May. Well, last night was my last in the US for a while, so after today my parents will really be empty nesters. Good news and bad news – good news is our medical officer is the head officer for all of South America, he’s an actual MD. Bad news – my eye doesn’t seem to be better, and I feel like my glands are swollen in my neck, though I’m not sure if it’s not just muscle pain still at the front of my neck (that’s what I’m hoping). We have a medical “check in” on Friday, so I’ll see how my eye and glands are doing then and run it by the staff if need be. Anyhow, we’re outta here in just a few hours. I’m really excited! We’ll be staying with our host families from the time we get down there tomorrow. Chao,
Robyn
